About us
Aims And Scope
The NSU Law Review is the flagship law journal of North South University , dedicated to publishing high-quality, original scholarship on a wide range of legal issues. Its primary aim is to foster rigorous academic dialogue and promote critical legal thinking both within and beyond Bangladesh. The NSU Law Review welcomes contributions from scholars, practitioners, and researchers around the world. As a general rule, no topic of legal interest is excluded from consideration for possible publication. Submissions may cover:
- Any aspect of the Bangladeshi legal system
- Comparative law and international legal issues
- Interdisciplinary study of law
However, manuscripts focusing exclusively on national jurisdictions other than Bangladesh will not be considered.
Open Access Statement
Law Review is an open-access journal. All articles are freely available to read, download, and share for personal use or educational purposes, such as in classroom teaching or academic research. Copyright remains with the authors, and no commercial use or republication of any article is permitted without prior written permission from the respective author.
Review Process
Submitted manuscripts will be considered for publication according to their topical relevance and the importance of their contribution to scholarship. The contributions would be accepted based on the recommendations of the double blind peer reviewers, the editorial board. The Law Review will not provide any feedback for desk reviews. The decision to publish or reject each submission would be made within 12 weeks of submission. Submissions would be accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis. All contributions will be made freely available on the Web.
Policy on Publications
All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness and objectivity. Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the journal’s editorial team to assess its quality and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope. Submissions that meet these initial criteria are then forwarded to at least one external referee and one internal referee for thorough review. The referee’s feedback and recommendations play a central role in the editorial decision-making process. Based on these evaluations, the manuscript may be accepted, rejected, or returned to the author with a request for revision. If revisions are requested, authors are invited to resubmit their manuscript after addressing the referees’ comments. The final decision on revised submissions is made by the journal editor, in consultation with members of the advisory board.
Call for Papers
Instructions for Authors
The Law Review will consider manuscripts submitted by anyone from any part of the world. Manuscripts must be in English, unpublished, and submitted exclusively. Authors must specifically state that their submissions are not being considered for publication elsewhere. However, the revised form of a paper published in its draft form as part of a workshop, conference proceedings, or working paper may be considered for publication. Authors may submit following any citation guide initially. However, accepted papers must conform to the Bangladesh Style of Citation of Legal Authorities (BSCLA). In the case of authors who are based outside Bangladesh, the student editors will assist them in ensuring compliance with the BSCLA Style Guide.
All manuscripts (except book reviews) must include an abstract of 150–200 words and five keywords.
